Some references on Liberty Seated coinage, most notably those on Seated Half Dollars (references 3 and 6), have included information on edge reeding imparted by the collar die. By the time we started developing the information in this reference, the majority of the coins we were able to analyze were housed in third-party grading holders, making the determination of reed counts impossible. For that reason we’ve made no attempt to include information on reed count in this document or on our web site. |
